Mark and his family have made Washington County their home for over 21 years. With 17 years in Stillwater's Liberty on the Lake neighborhood and 4 years in Lake Elmo's Tri-Lakes neighborhood, Mark is excited to continue serving this great county and its wonderful communities, people, and natural resources! It's a great place to live, work, and play... today and tomorrow!

I have witnessed some of the worst places on the planet and I am committed to keeping Washington County one of the best.

through public service. I was elected as a Representative in the Minnesota Legislature representing communities in the St Croix Valley. I serve on the Minnesota House

I introduced and supported multiple bills including funding for Hwy 36, clean water for Lake Elmo and East Metro communities, supporting First Responders' Mental Health, and supporting government accountability and reform.
I am most proud of a bipartisan bill related to Veterans Affairs, Public Safety and Judiciary which is aimed at
requiring a report through the sentencing guidelines commission on deferred sentences under
the Veterans Restorative Justice Act. Furthermore, I worked on Veterans' Accountability, aiming to
standardize reporting for nonprofits awarded grants for service members, veterans, and
their families. I also introduced property tax provisions to increase the
market value exclusion for veterans with a disability rating.

Upon retiring from the military, I became involved in our Veteran Community and am serving on the Executive Board of the WW2 Round Table, where serving veterans has been extremely rewarding. I established the Student Outreach to connect our greatest generation with the next generation to inspire a deep sense of service. I have been married to my wife, Tina, a mental health therapist in the community, for over 30 years, and together we parent our two daughters who attend Stillwater Area High School and are active in Pony athletics, NHS, and volunteering at our church. And many days, our favorite family members are our sweet rescue pets, Fiona and Oliver.
We have lived in Stillwater for over 17 years and Lake Elmo for over 4 years and love that the St Croix Valley has been our place of service for more than 21 years!
“Let's Go!"
I envision Washington County as a great place to live, raise a family, build a business, retire, and have access to home ownership. A place where the government is effective and works for us, its citizens!
A community where we are each free to enjoy our rights and live our best lives to the fullest for the greater good!
through the conservation of Brown's Creek Trail, the critical habitat along the St Croix River, and the supporting our communities with adequate clean water to develop as they desire.
by ensuring our roads are in good repair and safe for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
by maintaining a low property tax rate, ensuring every dollar is spent effectively, and keeping our highest bond rating from S&P (AAA) and Moody's (Aaa).
by supporting the Washington County law enforcement team of our County Sheriff and County Attorney with a renewed focus on mental health intervention and specialty courts such as Veterans with a focus on restorative justice.
by enabling seniors and working families to achieve and maintain the American Dream of home ownership through low property tax rate and providing the framework and leadership for our charitable and spiritual communities to assist families in crisis. Also engaging our cities, townships, small businesses, the chamber and other civic business-minded organizations to facilitate local growth and prosperity for workers and job-creators alike.
We love our community and want to preserve the best and fix the rest. Please join us with your unique skills and abilities to shine in our community. Let's work together today for a better tomorrow for US all!
